Green Light for Renewable Connections!

Renewable Connections, a leading UK developer of renewable energy infrastructure, has secured planning approval for two major projects, a key step forward in its commitment to supporting the UK’s journey to net zero. Alongside these developments, PowerGreen, the commercial division of Renewable Connections, continues to strengthen its role within the wider Rivington Group, driving innovative energy solutions for businesses.

The first project, approved in North Yorkshire, combines a 23.5MW solar farm with a 19MW BESS. This hybrid development will generate clean electricity and store surplus energy for use during peak demand, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy delivery in the region.

The second project, a 52MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), will be located in Yarnton, Oxfordshire. Approved by Cherwell District Council, the facility will store energy from renewable sources and release it when needed, helping to stabilise the grid and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The site spans approximately 1.5 hectares and was approved following extensive stakeholder engagement and ecological assessments.

These approvals mark the 26th and 27th successful planning consents for Renewable Connections since 2021, reinforcing the company’s position as a key player in the UK’s clean energy sector.
